About the Owners

Ryan Benson

Ryan Benson was born in Oswego, New York and was raised in Concord, New Hampshire. His father was a sailor in the US Navy, and his mother was a certified nursing assistant.

Ryan had worked in the restaurant industry as a cook for 5 years before following in his grandfather and fathers footsteps by enlisting in the US Army. He served in the US military for 13 years, with a deployments to Germany, Kuwait and Iraq in support of Operation New Dawn. After returning from Iraq in 2011, Ryan met his wife, Jennifer, and they married in 2015 in a small ceremony in Hurst, Texas. 

Ryan and Jennifer have four beautiful children together, along with another child from Ryan’s previous relationship.

Jennifer Benson

Jennifer was also born in Concord, New Hampshire. Her father was a sailor in the US Navy, while her mother was a professional in the mental health field. Jennifer previously worked for the New Hampshire Department of Transportation. At present, she works in the Human Resources  department  at a local community college.

Company History

Ryan and Jennifer have always made beef jerky to share with friends and family. One day, Jennifer thought of selling their sought-after homemade jerky. The two started selling to neighbors and quickly sold 20 pounds in 2 weeks. Thus, Benson Family Sausage N Jerky was born.

While most of the Benson family flavors are from their own creations, they also have new flavors that where added due to customer request. The two have cooked using chicken, pork, beef, elk, and venison in different flavors yet they still love to try new variations to spice up their current product selections.

Just recently, they have begun to produce Italian-style sausage links in spicy and mild variants. The couple is always excited to create a bunch of new flavors and variations to satisfy their customer’s appetites.
